This painting is from my “Entanglement Series”.

Engaging in the visceral experience of painting has been a form of meditation throughout my life. A dance ensues, between intentional mark making and passive observation. Paint turns into pigmented rivers, colors expand, bleed and trail in the path of least resistance. I create atmospheric, abstract paintings that hint at the cosmos and the natural world. The nature of our universe has always fascinated me. Works can be seen as depicting a microscopic or a cosmic scale and the ephemeral essence of existence itself.

As I paint, I create multiple areas of color and similar mark making. The canvas is tipped and angled in different directions. This allows the water and pigments to interact with their surrounding materials, on the same plane, simultaneously. They act as parallel universes or entangled particles. They keep similarities to one another, but with nuanced differences. Evolving into their own unique manifestations.
